Hi,

Something I've always found interesting is the scenario where you have a prospect requesting a quote. You offer them your price and they go away to think about it. How long do you wait before you push them for a response?

Personally, I don't like being pushed when I'm being sold to. But at the same time, I feel you have to push to get the sale. What are your thoughts? Have you found a perfect equilibrium?

I hate being pushed, so I won't usually bother unless I'm struggling for work which, luckily, doesn't seem to happen to me all that often. However, I do occasionally email when I have put a lot of work into putting a quote together, as I feel that people should get back to me when I've made the effort. But most of the time, quotes are straightforward and simple, so I don't get too offended!

I think it's important to stay front of mind in these situations and like Stephen says schedule in a follow up.

In terms of timescales I typically schedule follow up after 3 or 7 days depending on what type of response is required.

I don't get offended at all when people follow up with me as it normally means i've forgotten to do something :p
