Hi all,

I'm Paul, I run Shelfmade – I make plain Excel/PDF kits for the dull admin bits of running a small UK business.

A few that might be useful to people on this forum:

- CIS Subcontractor Verification Log 2026/27 (£14) – keeps verification numbers, deduction rates and monthly return dates in one place.
- Right to Work Checklist & Check Template (£24) – check record, follow-up dates for time-limited permission, and the doc lists.
- Late Payment Interest Calculator (£9) – works out statutory interest plus the fixed compensation amounts under the late payment act.
- Director ID Verification Tracker (£8) – for anyone with a few companies/directors to keep track of.
- MTD spreadsheet for hairdressers, barbers & beauty 2027-28 (£14.99)

They're all on my Payhip shop (search "Shelfmade Payhip"), one-off downloads, no subscription, and they're tools to keep records straight – not tax or legal advice, so check anything unusual with your accountant.

Happy to answer questions in the thread, and if there's a form or deadline you'd like a tracker for, tell me – that's how most of these started.

A few practical questions before people part with cash:

  • MTD sheet: does it use the reference rate dates for quarterly updates, and does it make clear that a spreadsheet alone won't file? Users still need bridging software to send quarterly updates to HMRC, and plenty of salon owners don't realise that.
  • Late payment calculator: is the base rate fixed to the 31 December / 30 June reference date rather than whatever the rate is on the day? That catches people out, as does the £40/£70/£100 banding.
  • Right to Work: does the template cover share code checks for eVisa holders, as physical BRPs are no longer valid?

The Director ID tracker looks well timed, given existing directors must verify by their next confirmation statement.

If you want a suggestion for the next one, a confirmation statement and accounts filing tracker for people juggling several companies would sell, especially with the Companies House fee increases and new software-only filing rules on the way.
