Local citations have been important for local SEO for years, but with AI search becoming more common, the way businesses manage their online information is changing.
Businesses still need accurate and consistent information across their Google Business Profile, website, directories, review platforms and social profiles. But now, AI-powered search can also use information from these sources when answering questions about local businesses.
This made me wonder: Are local citations still a priority for UK businesses, or should businesses now focus more on AI visibility as well?
I recently looked into how local citations are changing with AI search, including the role of GBP, business websites, niche directories, NAP consistency and reviews.
What are you seeing with your own business or clients? Are you actively managing citations for AI visibility?
