For most owner-run businesses, the honest answer is
staying consistent, and it's rarely because of lack of ideas. It's because social media sits at the bottom of the to-do list behind invoicing, quotes, VAT returns and actual customer work. The week gets busy, three days pass with nothing posted, and the momentum is gone.
The time sink hiding underneath that is
decision fatigue. Sitting down with a blank screen and asking "what shall I post today?" burns far more energy than the actual posting. The fix that works for a lot of small firms is batching: one afternoon a month, 10 to 15 posts drafted and scheduled, then the rest of the month is just replying to comments.
Video is the other big one. A 30-second clip can easily eat an hour if you're a perfectionist about it. Rough and useful beats polished and late.
