Transfers between accounts at same bank

I use Lloyds TSB bank for both my personal accounts and business accounts. I use the faster payments facility in both my business and personal accounts to pay people promptly.

Tonight when I tried to move money between accounts a message came up saying it would take 3-4 days to go through. Eh? It's the same bank!!!!

Has anyone else came across this anomaly? I can send a payment to a non-Lloyds account immediately but can't do it between to same bank accounts.

I'll be taking this up with them tomorrow and I really hope it's a mistake otherwise complaints will be made.

Has anyone else found the above scenario to be the case?

It's no mistake... It's an old con; no more no less. Halifax/BOS pull the same stunt when you try to pay your credit card. It'll be because one's your business account and the other's private... They'll have some b.s. about it being two different organisations within the organisation...

It's all a crock... :(

,

I suspect the answer is that the new "faster payment" system isn't fully bedded down. Banks have been introducing it gradually, and not all banks are fully geared up yet.

I know that doesn't answer your point about it being the same bank. It does seem a bit pathetic, doesn't it.

I might have spoken too soon :blushing:

I checked again this morning before calling to make my thoughts known. Both transfers have completed and all the funds are already where they are and fully available.

I'm hoping this is actually the norm and my whole gripe is without foundation.

Fingers crossed

Just a normal bank profiteering model although one that is being slowly done away with.

On another point , I have always took the view to have different banks for personal and business. No one knows what is coming round the corner and best not to have all eggs in same basket.
