I've had a couple of run ins with these guys because I think they about as representative of Scottish industry as Brighton rock!

Is it time to set up a Confederation of Scottish Industry and dump this essentially City centric outfit?

The impression I have gained over the past year or so is that their 'Scottish' guy seems more intent on making highly politicised public utterances that do not seem to ahve any particluar members' remit, and to say the least, cast the business sector in a grasping and self-serving light. I agree that they are city-centric; the fact that at least one prominant Scottish business person had to come out a week or so ago and publically disgree with their latest anti-devolution line says much.

I would tend to agree with Edward.
They seem more intent on playing politics in Scotland than anything else.
Not even constructive politics at that.

For local businesses, I have found the Chamber of Commerce more useful.
