Re: STOP PRESS: Literally stop press....Herald make staff redunda

It's been brewing for a while, there have been problems since about April or May, and as both unions and the NUJ seem stuck with a distinctly 1970's perspective on the world neither party has helped.

Personally I've never been a fan of the NUJ (or BECTU for that matter) as both seem more intent on feathering their own nest and promoting the egos of the 'high heid yins' at the union rather than working towards a secure progressive industry. (Which is why I joined the BAJ and would encourage any colleague to do likewise) Clearly the company's actions in this case are despicable. Obviously bully-boy tactics, which are totally unacceptable in this day in age. Though I'm left puzzling over whether they are action or reaction.

Either way I'd urge a boycott of titles until the employers screw the head.

Well, it seems to be acceptable by the masses...that's the sad part, very few people are willing to stick the two fingers up to this type of behaviour.

BARSTEWARDS!!
