Recruitment I hate it

The one thing I hate in business is recruitment. I suppose I should be glad that we are recruiting a lot at present when most seem to be unloading but I do find it very difficult.

I have been in control of small teams and large teams of hundreds and from office admin to new sales director or general manager I have always struggled. You never really know what someone is capable of until you have them for several months, and I have a very short attention span!

In my current world we find recruiting guides and instructors very easy as our reputation ensures we get over 100 applicants each year without looking so we pick and choose. However, it is the other essential areas of the business I struggle with like getting efficient office staff than can convert the enquires into sales.

Have a couple of good people at present but they are swamped so in the market again.

Got to say our work environment does not suit everyone and my management style leaves a lot to be desired :D

Still no one said business was easy:laugh:

Great to hear you're recruiting...not a lot of companies can say that in the current climate.

I'd be happy to have an offline chat with you about how we could make life easier for you and help you get the right people the first time.

We're an HR Company NOT a Recruitment Agency so our approach differs and our 'fees' work in a completely different way........most people find us much better value for money!

Drop me a PM via this forum, email or give me a call in the office on 0141 572 8427 and i'd be ahppy to discuss things further with you. :D

Afraid at the level I am recruiting for at present we would not consider using a agency. I know there will be good ones out there, of course there are but in a previous role in a large PLC I used agencies a lot due to time constraints and it never really produced results any better than in house.

I know bring everyone in on a trial contract basis of 1 month, then 3 months if they produce they then get a long contract if they do not they are gone.

We are NOT an Agency and work very differently than they do.

Agencies typically charge a fee per placement (approx12-15% of salary) or want you to take on people on a temp to perm basis for a monthly fee plus a small fee as/when you take them on permanently.

As an HR company, we work very differently. We would get a full understanding of your requirements, including job and person specifications, how many staff you were looking to employ, etc then provide you a quote for conducting your recruitment, end to end.

This would mean you would pay a fixed fee based on the 'project' and NOT a fee per successful candidate. This approach usually results in significant cost-saving for companies recruiting more than one person.

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised with what we could do for you! :D

PS: we also offer training courses in areas such as influencing skill and personal impact at very competitive rates.
