Hi guys,

A quick straw poll - are you put off by a business that lists only a mobile number as a contact and not a landline also? You can make multiple choices, and if there's something else you'd like to add please feel free.

Thanks guys,

For me, it depends on the 'type' of business. If a joiner or a plumber only had a mobile number that wouldn't bother me but if it was an IFA or a printer I'd be less comfortable.

I agree with Intrepid. For a business offering professional services, the lack of a landline number would make it look amateurish. I'd also want to see a physical address.

I agree 100% with both Mike and Intrepid above, business specific. I opted for a VoIP solution so that I can easily take my landline number with me if I move to an office, or if I travel with work or whatever.

Any company that has a mobile only number - unless it's a freelancer I would never bother calling.

Interestingly, a company we do sub contract work for switched their local number to 0845/0870 numbers in order to make them look like a big company and they saw quite a drop in phone calls from scotland. Not sure why this would be?

There's been a lot of changes recently in the way calls to these numbers are charged, maybe confusion about the cost of calling has contributed or maybe the thought of ringing into a call centre put them off?

Does size really matter......:eek:hmy: .......in terms of choosing a company to do business with that is....

My sentiment exactly. There is a difference between mobile and fleeting ;)

Personally I don't know a consumer who doesn't have a phone package, land line and/or mobile, with some form of "free minutes" to 01/02/03 numbers but 0845/0870 etc numbers are not free, rates vary and is it just a call centre!
