Price Feedback Please

I am in a sector that will get hammered with the slowdown and we are doing all we can to not just accept it. We are upping the marketing and I will have to work a bit harder than usual :scared:

We are keen to grow our Adventure Holiday business and have come up with a package deal that we think is great value but I would like some feed back if possible.

Package is

4 night long weekend in Morocco including 2 days rafting March/April 2009
2 night weekend Scotland June-August 2009 including rafting, canyoning, river bugs, duckies
10 night trip to Nepal including a 9 day rafting trip on one of the worlds best rafting rivers October 2009

Accommodation included in all above. Food on the Nepal trip and half of the Morocco trip

Price £999 or £950 for group bookings of 10 plus

Only extras are the flights.

The price is what is normally charged for just the Nepal trip

Target group is 25-55 year old singles,couples,friends

Any thoughts?

I promised myself I would step out of my comfort zone is 2009 and the Scotland Package looks like a good start for me

I have had the same feed back from several places I posted this what tells me my use of English is crap.

Yes it is for all 3 trips. Flight to Morocco are easy and cheap via the low cost airlines though you have to go via London or Madrid or Frankfurt or Marsellie as no direct from Scotland. I took the family last August and paid under £100 per flight return. I have several booked for myself at around £50 return.

Nepal is also easy via London , Amsterdam or Paris but not as cheap. Used to be sub £500 if you knew where to look but I am struggling at present to get sub £600.

I have actually took some bookings on this form people who just want to do the Morocco and Nepal trip ( ex customers who knew I had just thrown in the Scotland weekend)

If you can round up a crowd of the motley crew that hang out on here I will host you guys for a day of free adventure at my place. Only cost will be if you decide you want to stay over night. May be a good networking meeting. :thumbup:

There has been many a deal struck on the worlds rivers you know and many a plan hatched The big boys used to pay silly money to be taken out of there comfort zone around the world. Some of them even made us sign NDA's of what we heard being discussed:001_rolleyes:

It sounds like a fantastic deal. Personally I'd never find the time! But that's an aside....

Flights; as says, this would be a stinger. If you had some way of brokering a flights package that would help sell it. And 's other point about not-quite knowing at first what the package deal was is well made.... One good reason why copy writers exist...

Agree my English is best describe as rubbish:sad: Comes from leaving school way to young.

We cannot offer flights by law as we are not ATOL or ABTA bonded. I have no intention of doing so going forward as it is impossible to make money on flights unless you do volume and in our small world that is unlikely.

We do search and find flights for our clients but then we just send a web link for them to book direct with airline etc.

I think going to the trouble of finding people flights or showing them what's on offer is a great idea. Do you actually promote that you do this?

Not at all.. There's a craft to copy writing, and it's not easily picked up off the ground....

What's to prevent you developing a relationship with a travel agent who CAN broker the flights?

We used to have this in place then the cheap airlines started dominating and the travel agent made no money via them so it was easier to just send links

If we started doing lots of business out with the cheap flights range it would be worth it though.

That said I am all about getting the very cheapest flight available for the client and not all travel agents do that as it depends who is paying the most commission. Last time I when to Zambia cheapest I could get via a travel agent was £600 ended up paying £450 after a bit of creative searching on the web.

I agree about the copy writing craft, it is something that has to be learned over many years. I know I will never learn it so may be a good idea to pay someone.
