has anyone used this product and is it any good? i was thinking of getting it but not sure how much it has improved over the years.

I would avoid any mains ethernet stuff. Power spikes, brownouts and the fact that the particular phase of your electricity supply wil be shared with others in your street makes it a no-go as far as my company goes.

Wireless (with repeaters if required) or wired if the better idea.

Why were you thinking of getting this in place of wired ethernet or wireless?
