I am on the hunt for another member of our rapidly growing team of very different individuals

Marketing/Sales person based Edinburgh.

Requirements

Passion for Marketing and Sales and hopefully the outdoor industry

Web savy as a lot of time will be spent online, networking , blog posting, link building

Edinburgh savy as a lot of time will be spent visiting our accommodation providers and agents etc in Edinburgh.

Good with people as lots of meetings in order to promote our businesses

Able to work on own as you will be the Edinburgh office!! All other staff are in Perthshire/Aviemore or Marrakech

Probably suit young switched on grad or non grad who is smart and has a hunger to make a mark.

Happy to run personal P&L with pressure that goes with it.

Progression is 100% down to results, rapidly growing company that does not have any dedicated marketing or sales people with the exception of myself and I am looking to remove myself from that role in order to concentrate on purchasing more businesses.

Anyone know anyone who suits the above please get them to get in touch. No recruitment agents please we do not use.

Hiya Peter

Have you considered outsourcing this work? It could be beneficial for the long term and cost effective too. If the position requires 10 hours per week work, why employ someone full time? If it is around 20 hours per week, why employ them full time? You would also save on sick pay, holiday pay, general lateness and employers national insurance contributions.

I am a Virtual PA working from home and whilst I could meet a lot of your requirements, sales is not my strongest forte therefore would not meet your complete ideal package. (see what I mean!)

Might be worthwhile doing some research on Virtual Assistants, Virtual PAs and Virtual Secretaries - I am pretty certain you will find some super people and it could provide to be cost effective to your business.

If you want to pm me I can give you some good websites to get you started.

What I would like to make clear to you is that ideally you should be looking for a Virtual Business who is actually a Limited Company (I am as of today!). With all the hype around the IR35 regulations you could also potentially end up in hot water with good old HM Revenue & Customs if not a ltd company. If you do outsource to a self employed individual, you would need a lot of trust that they are earning decent monies from other sources.

Hope this is of some help for you.

Take care.

Hi Sharon

I am probably one of the most proactive people in the country at using virtual services. I have been outsourcing for as long as I can remember.

I have a rule that if I or one of my team cannot deliver at a ROI that makes spending our time on it sensible it is outsourced. Therefore a lot of or stuff is outsourced:) I currently have several projects juggling that are all outsourced.

Unfortunatley for local virtual providers the nature of business today means we are all interconnected and value for £ comes into it so a lot of my work is outsourced overseas.

A big part of the role I have described above is meeting and working with people in Edinburgh and also to establish and office presence in Edinburgh for various other business reasons therefore this role is not suitable for outsourcing our believe me it would have been.

Thanks for input

Peter
