Laptop Screen

My main laptop has just developed a vertical pink line from top to bottom around about the middle of the screen. Is this the start of trouble or will it just stay that way?

Depends how wide the line is...You've physically lost the green drive to a column of pixels probably due to a connection going open circuit (Think about Maxwell's triangle and remeber the screen is RGB drive; it's a MAGENTA line, not pink ) This CAN be a sign of panel damage or sometimes just a duff ribbon connection (tends to give a wider line) . Either way it needs looking at by an engineer.
