Hi I have worked at my company for nearly 10 years and recently decided to leave due to low pay, high expectancy and poor management. I secured another job and informed the bosses of my decision. When I spoke to the founder (who has the majority share) he said that he had intended to sell me 25% upon his retirement. I then said that if he gets me this in writing, I would consider staying. The current set up is that he and his wife have 51% and two others each have 24.5%. He and his wife do not get involved with the day to day running so it's run by the other two. His intention was to have 4 people with 25% when he retires, but the other 2 have said no to this and therefore its been put to me that I can purchase 20% and the other 2 can make theirs upto 40% each. Hes now said that he doesn't intend to retire for a while, so I can purchase my 20% now, which will leave him with 31% and the other 2 still on the 24.5% for the time being. I've been given a price and told the structure of my wages/dividend payments ect. What I am struggling with is the other 2 are presenting as difficult in terms of giving me the information I require ect. They have told me that the figures I have for earning are 4.5% less than what they earn, but I only have their word on that. I'm also struggling with understanding the roles vs rights. One of the other 2 is the sales manager and the other is production manager, I have been told I will stay as a worker. They have whatever days they want off and pay for things such as fuel and phone contracts from the business, but it seems I will not be able to do these things. I may be wrong but it seems unfair that this is the case? Any help on anything would be greatly appreciated as I'm not the best with all of this stuff! Thanks.
