Hi All,

Just to let everyone know that the Third Sector Forums are now live for the beta launch tomorrow.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on the design and layout.

Head on over at Third Sector Forums and check them out.

Cheers

Hi Tom,

It seems to have changed alot from what I remember :p

I think the colours are great. Really unusual and certainly unique.

Two wee things I dont like are the position of the forum stats and the forum post icons. Maybe i'm just used to the stats being along the bottom but they just look out of place. The little forum icons I feel you could use these more effectively. Just my 2p anyway :p

Are you planning on using vBseo? It's something I would consider if you want the forums up in the search engines.

Hey ,

Yes I had a bit of a design crisis and decided I wanted to change all of it.

The colours are quite strong on it, you won't forget it in a hurry that's for sure

I thought the stats on the right would be a nice change, as they now appear on every page where as normally they only appear on the front page.

I guess time will tell what people think of it being there, were running a poll and so far only one person has said they hate it which is not bad

I'm not sure what you mean by the forum icons, do you mean the little squares that indicate if it's new or an old post?

Not using vbseo at the minute, i've been reading that it shouldn't make a difference as google can handly dynamic url's much better.

Plus i noticed that UKBF doesn't use them and they do not too badly so though i'd give it a whirl and see how we get on.

But all in all a succesfuly beta launch i think, we have 19 members so far!

Good stuff!

Thanks for the feedback though much appreciated, popin and introduce yourself!

Thanks for the feedback . As Tom says it's early days, we're going to reassess the design in the new year and see what changes need made.

We might drop some categories, add new ones and tweak others. We're hoping that the forums will become user-led.

The PR & Marketing forum is looking rather bare at the moment but it's only day 2 I guess!
