Help Please Looking for a free personalised email address

The free email address site I use seems to be having technical issues so I am on the hunt for an alternative.

I want one that I can personalise rather than having their company's domain name.

Any recommendations?

With free you get what you pay for.... You'd really need to buy a domain name and consider setting up a website... Email addresses can be set up using the domain name..

Equiphase is where the forum's hosted as is TFGtv and several others here... It's owned by Stugster and I honestly can't find anyone saying a bad word about the level or quality of service... Not expensive either...

If it helps I'll even knock you up a quick 'holding' page for your website 'till such times you can get a proper web designer in to do it...

Thanks Matt :)

Safaa, have a look on here: UK Web Hosting Solutions - Equiphase - Welcome. You can grab a domain name for about £8 a year (£10 every 2 years for .co.uk),and the hosting from £2.50 a month. The hosting will let you do your email, etc.

We also have EasyInstall to let you install Wordpress and a plethora of other software onto your account with very little effort.

This is the risk you take with free email addresses. I wrote about this in my 'ten checks to see if your website is ready for 2010' at Is your website ready for 2010? | Canary Dwarf, Moray's web design specialists (point 5)

You can buy domain names with any reputable registrar or we will register and manage them on your behalf (in your name of course). We charge £7.99 per year for .CO.UK and £14.99 for .COM. This includes all administration such as changes to nameservers, setting up mailboxes and forwards, and any other domain issues. (Plus VAT)

If you buy a domain name through us, we don't charge for hosting until you have a website to host. So you can run your email straight away and get your website up at a later date. As Matt says, you can have a holding page on the domain until you are ready for a website.

We also have a WordPress installation service which is £50 setup on your domain and £50 per year after that.

For your assurance, our hosting platform was measured the most reliable in the UK last June.

If costs are really tight, as long as you have the knowledge/ determination, you could get a domain name from someone like Stuart, and use Google Apps for your email, although the setup is not for the feint hearted, and is a lot of hassle to save £2.50 a month! :)

Ah yes, it's been that long since I used that type of freebie email account with a domain name, that I forgot you could do that too! :blushing:
