I am not currently working being disabled but I have an idea for a business but have absolutely no idea how to put things into practice.
The idea is with the pet food industry, it would need testing, funding and advertising but I haven't a clue where to start, I have a small amount of funds to pay for some research but really can't afford to waste them if it's just a non-starter. Could somebody please advise me what should be my first step, and where I go from there.

Thank you.

I would do as much research as humanly possible by yourself first, with AI now you can pretty much go from research, to concept and not be a million miles away.

Take a look at things like https://www.perplexity.ai/ and https://claude.ai/new

Also worth taking angles from ChatGPT and Gemini too. You'll likely find if there is supporting data out there, then between them you can find most of it with the right prompts.

Obviously it will need fact checking, but it will give you a much better idea if its worth chasing your idea and if it will have legs.

When doing the prompts, be as detailed as you possibly can, pitch it like your talking to an investor, the more detail you feed the AI, the better the response will be.

Anything to do with the pet food industry will need money. Lots of it. Unless you plan to do small batches and sell at the local farmers markets. But even then it's not going to be a easy way to make a living.

If your plan was to introduce a national brand you will need big money. The major players spend millions on research and marketing.

You can also look for forums within your specific niche, they’re a great way to get advice, real opinions, and firsthand experiences from people already in that field.
