Hi everyone, I’m Kim, a UK-based bookkeeper with nearly 40 years’ experience across practice and industry. I’ve recently launched my own business, FixMyBooks, specialising in clean-ups, onboarding, and ongoing support for small businesses. Looking forward to connecting, sharing knowledge, and learning from others here.

Welcome, Kim

Great to have an experienced bookkeeper in the Marketplace. Clean-ups and onboarding are exactly where a lot of UK small businesses get stuck (especially after a messy handover or a year of “we’ll sort it later”).

If you fancy, share what systems you prefer (Xero/QBO/Sage),your typical turnaround for a rescue job, and whether you cover VAT reviews and Making Tax Digital checks as part of the tidy-up. That’ll help members quickly see if you’re a fit.

Wishing you a strong start with FixMyBooks—good bookkeeping saves owners a fortune in time, fees, and stress.

Appreciate that - this is exactly where most businesses get caught out.

I work mainly in Xero and QBO (Certified ProAdvisor Advanced Online / MTD ProAdvisor),with Sage where required.
Turnaround depends on condition, but I focus on getting businesses back to a clean, reliable position quickly rather than dragging things out.
VAT reviews and MTD compliance checks are built into every clean-up - especially where there’s been a period of workarounds or uncertainty.

Most of my work starts when things have been left too long - so it’s never unusual.
