This morning, I took down my FACEBOOK page (caused a few minor issues, but that's not the point of this thread),for the simple reason that although I wasn't a prolific poster on it...I was becomeing distracted reading what other folks were up too.
It is so easy to fall into the trap as well...no matter how good you are at time managment. But the pull of reading what others are upto rather than getting focused on work or whatever you ought to be focused on is quite great.
I don't think for one moment that I am alone in this and it is not that I would spend hours on the thing....but grab a coffee, oh I'll just check....or your go to your broswer to get a different website and lo, you are on FACEBOOK.
So even although it has only been for a few moments at a time during the day, those few moments all add up. And it those time when you are on FACEBOOK, that you find you lose your train of thought on what you are working on, so lose even more valuable time on your work.
So to use a DRAGON'S DEN phrase..."I'm out"....I have other things to focus on.
(This is just in case you are wondering why I wasn't on FB anymore.)
Kind regards

Polr threatens to abandon Bebo, as does my almost-13-year-old daughter- for exactly the same reason! Bill Gates and Gordon Dow 'de-face' themselves and now this from the redoubtable Ian Monk....
