This morning, I took down my FACEBOOK page (caused a few minor issues, but that's not the point of this thread),for the simple reason that although I wasn't a prolific poster on it...I was becomeing distracted reading what other folks were up too.

It is so easy to fall into the trap as well...no matter how good you are at time managment. But the pull of reading what others are upto rather than getting focused on work or whatever you ought to be focused on is quite great.

I don't think for one moment that I am alone in this and it is not that I would spend hours on the thing....but grab a coffee, oh I'll just check....or your go to your broswer to get a different website and lo, you are on FACEBOOK.

So even although it has only been for a few moments at a time during the day, those few moments all add up. And it those time when you are on FACEBOOK, that you find you lose your train of thought on what you are working on, so lose even more valuable time on your work.

So to use a DRAGON'S DEN phrase..."I'm out"....I have other things to focus on.

(This is just in case you are wondering why I wasn't on FB anymore.)

Kind regards

But, all work and no play.....

Means you might actually get through the day....:laugh:

Though Gordon I'll have to concede that this will also greatly reduce your chances of being stalked as potential Husband material by a female Russian shot-putter....:scared::scared::scared:

How about Twitter, do you not find yourself reading that all day too!!? I work at the computer 95% of the time so having these things running in a browser in the background isn't such a distraction. Having said that, what I must stop doing is rewinding back through Twitter to see what I've missed while I was away!

Oooh I wouldn't dare knock it Brian  Might get thumped :lol:

....Might just carry on fixating on the 'Audrey Hepburn type' myself though.

Just interested but did you warn all your friends you were "committing Facebook suicide" beforehand? I've been tempted to get rid of one or two of my social networking accounts (namely Bebo - too old for it now!)

I know, and its not that you are sending messages out on it...but you end up reading what is going on with other folks....avoiding what we should be doing.
