Can this be done with a website

One for the web people...

I am looking for a website that displays 3 links on it. Every X'th visitor to the site then triggers a routine that will click on one of the 3 links randomly.

Is this possible?

There is one more requirement but I'll wait until I get an answer to the above question.

:D

When you say triggers a routine, do you mean the link is activated without any input of the visitor (as the page loads for example)?

If so, yes is the short answer - but I am worrying about ethics of the old popup window days already!! ;)

That too is possible, although I am none the wiser as to what you have in mind for this??

What would the IP address be used for, and would it be one of a predetermined list of IP addresses or generated on the fly?

Love the idea, but I have to say it looks like a dangerous game to me. If you want the click through to show the generated IP address as the 'click' itself you are entering a dark world, and one to be careful of.

It can be done, and fairly easily (although serving up the fake IP may take a little work) - a couple of PHP scripts and access to a MySQL database is all that is required. (Thats for the way I would do it, there will be other ways too).
