Electronic downloads with licence details etc in the install.txt file.

Sounds dodgy if you ask me.....

And have you noticed that the link for 'help' doesn't exist and there is no contact details for the company either?

I was 99% sure it was dodgy but I didn't understand the technical bit. How do sites like this get away with selling dodgy software? Surely Adobe, Microsoft, et al would do something about it?

Adobe products have never been or likely to ever be cheap. Unless of course you are using an illegal version or you happen to be a student and get the student version (which is not for commercial usage).

That website could possibly be selling full copies of the anti-virus software, but is more likely to be selling OEM (System Builder) copies of the anti-virus software. For example, on that site it is

These website owner don't give a monkey's about doing it legally...all they want is your money and credit card details to use to fund some crime ring.

Why would Adobe or Microsoft do anything about it. Firstly they would want to say to us..."See we told you not to buy dodgy software" and secondly websites like this are rife, it would be too hard to manage or at least would need massive resource to sort the problem out. Thirdly if there are low cost download website like this, would Adobe or MS want to talk about it about it anyway without arrousing suspicion you could download software for a franction of the prices normally.

I remember really dodgy stuff in the late nineties called Dragon...full of operating systems, and MS office....did anyone come accross it or even know about it?

You would have thought if it was a spoof site the people that owned the site would hide their identity. If you go to Whois.co.uk - Web Hosting, Exchange Hosting, Domain Registration the information on who owns the site is there for all to see

If you actually click on a product the e-commerce part doesn't actually work so maybe the site has either already been flagged or maybe it's a genuine site but just in development.
