Browser Recommendation

Hi folks, just thought I would share my new found enthusiasm for the latest version of the Safari browser. I heard through some of my RSS feeds and some Tweets that this full release was pretty quick and I have to say I am amazed at the speed compared to FF and Chrome (lets not talk about IE! :p ).

Now that it's left its Beta status I would really recommend giving it a try, it some of those really nice 'apple' features that keep people like me really happy!

Let me know what you make of it too..... Apple - Safari - Download Safari - Download the world’s fastest and most innovative browser for Mac and PC

Thanks for that, Gordon. You've encouraged me to give it a try. I assume you're using the Windows version?

I've been a happy Firefox user for several years, but it's always worth trying something new -- especially when you consider how much time you probably spend in your browser each day.

OMG, I just destroyed a massive post about this (some feat one handed due to fractured clavicle! :() due to hitting the trackball back button..... I'm sure Firefox handles that better than IE which just ditched the post!!!

Disclaimer:- I am a Microsoft .Net developer and we are a Microsoft Partner company, however I don't feel this has jaded my opinions expressed below.

I have been a Firefox evangelist for a number of years; I used Firefox as my primary browser back when it was called Phoenix and then Firebird. I used Camino (a Firefox based browser) as my primary browser on Mac OSX in preference to Safari.

I courted with Google Chrome for a number of months but I ditched it again in preference of Firefox as I was having to use a local proxy server to do ad blocking which frustrated me.

When I moved my main home laptop from XP/ Ubuntu dual boot over to the RC of Windows 7, I naturally installed Firefox, but I briefly tried the bundled IE8 and I was refreshingly surprised. I had to put a quick inprivate setting hack in to perform ad blocking, but on that machine I uninstalled Firefox. I then proceeded to change my default browser on my main development workstation to IE8 and I've been delighted. I honestly never imagined I'd switch browsers back to IE, but there you go!

I will probably download this and give it a whirl, but after using OSX on a number of machines, which I've now disposed of, I've developed a bit of a skeptical view of Apple products!
