Are Apprenticeships Fair In The Modern World?

There is an argument that apprenticeships still have a part to play in the modern world. They:-

• Often offer opportunities for those not so strong on a academic front
  
• Offer the chance to work from the bottom up, understanding the business in great detail
• Allow individuals to earn respect and build working relationships which could last many years
• Offer long term goals of full employment and a long term career

However,

• The pay is often low in comparison to full time workers
• The hours can be tough
• Seeing out a full apprenticeships can be a challenge - leaving only those fully committed
