Why not? If you don't feel like you need to have that experience, then don't. I seriously doubt anyone will ever hold a gun to your head and force you to eat caviar. On the other hand, caviar is expensive for a reason, well, the best is very expensive. But you don't have to take out a second mortgage to enjoy a delicacy that is quite tasty, and is fantastic alone or with small pieces of toasted bread, atop a slice of boiled egg, mixed with softened cream cheese, and stuffed in a mushroom sauteed in butter (yum). Caviar is a unique flavor that to some may be an acquired taste; others it was love at first bite (wth apologies to George Hamilton)! If you can't stand the idea of salted fish eggs packed and stored in a jar or tin, don't force yourself. But if you want to broaden your tastes, exercise your taste buds and indulge yourself in a food only a small percentage of the population of the world ever indulge in, take a shot. As the old commercial admonished, “Try it. You'll like it!”
