Re: Vista SP1 Released - DO NOT UPDATE YET

NO NO NO NO

DONT DO IT!

It can take up to 2 hours to install, requires up to 3 reboots.

2 customers downloaded it (434MB) yesterday and installed it - screwed up their PC's.

And it's a real bugger to uninstall too

I agree that it's not the nicest when it comes to downloading - not sure how long it takes myself. And yes, you do have to reboot at least once. But....

Vista without SP1 is worse :) SP1 should be thought of as "Vista version 1".

When Vista was released, Microsoft didn't put it through it's paces enough - lots of bugs etc. For a few hours of pain upgrading, you'll see a difference.

As much of an annoyance it is for the download/reboots, it's worth it!

Our other computer upgrade yesterday, 64.4MB 2 reboots, and it seem a lot calmer now actually. We were having problems with the wirless connection on it IPv6 never worked alwasy had limited connectivity and caused the connection to drop. Stopped using that and now it is fine, and the other little problems seem to have corrected themselves.

however now i've said that i'll get home from work tonight and it will have blown up or something!!
