I have decided that it's too depressing to watch the stock market falling....so I have decided to not to look at the falls any more.

I don't want to be depressed....so it's onwards and upwards from here on in....

Guess what, I know a lot of great companies on this forum....I hope that they are focused on making business rather than worrying about what it happening on the FTSE or Wall Street.

So cheer up folks, lets make some great business together....who is with me?

I remember turning down the idea of a PEP mortgage back in 1990 something because i thought that the stock market, at approaching 4000 points, was getting a bit over valued!!

My sympathies to anyone with a pension - suddenly i don't feel so worried about not having one!

I'm with you on that, being negative and depressed never solved anything. I always remind myself of the song from Life of Brian - "Always look on the bright side of life" - it never fails to make me smile.

I'm looking on this as a wonderful opportunity to consider my spending habits!

I met a chap yesterday who is an IFA in Glasgow and what he said it that people really need to realise now that pensions just are not working and too look at other options.

As a dyed-in-the-wool petrol head who long since figured out that cars are a great way of chucking money down the drain It's amazing to imagine a car depreciating less quickly that what are effectively people's savings....

I'm tempted to buy a few shares as they're bound to bounce back sooner or later...

Buy to let's not a bad option so long as you do buy to let and not buy to make a quick killing....

But I WILL take your advice Alison and get myself immediately to the offsales.... ;)

It's a good time to remember that you don't make a loss on shares until you sell them!!

I have taken extraordinary delight in monitoring the stock quote for a company which has lost 75% of its value in the past year. Serves 'em right for sending my mother a payment demand seven years after she died.

Hi,

I have just read this:

"Glory belongs to the act of being constant to something greater than yourself, to a cause, to your principles, to the people on whom you rely, and who rely on you in return. No misfortune, no injury, no humiliation can destroy it."

Think it was apt to your post Gordon...also have just been tweeted or twittered or twirled...geewhizz a link to Chicken Little...remember from your youth? It's worth a re-read...perfect if you keep in the back of your mind the whole CC melarkey!

Here you go:

Have a wonderful weekend
