He mentions "the team" and I think that is key. You don't want to be on your own thinking about the goals that you want to reach; everyone has to be in on it and needs to understand what's happening. It's amazing to see the difference between working with a happy team to an unhappy one, so if you can just change the feeling within the team, you could make a huge difference.
