Hi everyone!
I'm exploring the idea of a fulfilment service specifically for UK small businesses, particularly those selling items like stationery, who are just starting out. I'm also thinking about the specific needs of businesses who manage their own branded stationery and the space and logistical challenges that can create.
I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences.
If you're new to running a small business (online or otherwise) that ships physical products, and have started within the last year or so, I'd love to know:
• What are your biggest challenges with order fulfilment right now? (e.g., storage of inventory (especially for items like stationery which can take up space, both at home and in potentially limited office space),packing materials, shipping costs and logistics, time constraints, managing packaging for delicate items, printing labels, post office runs, and for businesses with dedicated offices, the challenge of storing and managing company-branded stationery - think about the space a ream of letterhead or boxes of pens can take up!)
• Would you consider using a fulfilment service if it was available? Why or why not?
• What features would be most important to you in a fulfilment service? (e.g., affordable pricing tailored for smaller businesses, integration with sales platforms (like Etsy, Shopify, etc.),fast and reliable shipping within the UK, branded packaging options (especially important for stationery to maintain a professional look),storage options suitable for various item sizes and quantities, handling of fragile items, label printing, pick and pack accuracy, and the ability to manage and distribute company-branded stationery, freeing up valuable office space)
• What are your biggest concerns about using a fulfilment service? (e.g., cost, loss of control over the customer experience, potential for errors (especially with personalised stationery),minimum order quantities, difficulty in handling bespoke or custom orders, and for businesses with branded stationery, ensuring the correct items are used and distributed to the right people within the company)
Any insights you can share would be incredibly helpful! I'm genuinely trying to understand the needs of new small businesses in the UK, especially those dealing with stationery and similar products, and see if this is something that would be valuable.
Thanks in advance for your input!
