One of the other sites I keep track of in my RSS feeder is SEOmoz. This is another great site if your looking into doing some SEO work.

I've linked to a really good post which is great visually at showing you how to build your seo from the base up.

I thought this was a really good way of summarising the important elements. What do other think and do others rate seomoz as a good resource? Is their paid for content worth the monthly subscription?

SEmoz is an excellent resource so also is SPHINN and search engine land another two sites i visit everyday.

Search Engine Guide - Small Business Help for Website Promotion and Increased Search Engine Traffic is a good resource, I also subscribe to Mike Grehans newsletter as he is a recognised expert but his ebook is quite old (but still relevant) and has dodgy drm that doesn't always work.

Im interested in knowing which seo software people use and why they like it as im planning on investing in some. Any suggestions?

I would say your better of not using SEO software. however the best tool I use is SeoQuake - extension for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers it give you lots of information about a website or webpage instantly very good.
