All to easy these days to get bogged down by work work and more work so I am going for a walk for a break next year.

Downside is I have to train all through the Scottish winter in order to be prepared:crying: Least the dogs will be happy

Details of walk can be found at Gobi2011

This sounds amazing, I'm so envious! Maybe in a few years when my wee one's are no longer wee one's I'll be able to complete something similar.

Good luck, especially with all your training. What kind of target are you setting for donations?

Kind Regards

Neil

Not really thought about a donation target yet. We have a chosen charity for the expedition but I also work with several forces charities each year. Sometimes though I like to do things for the sake of doing them and not be tied to raising money etc. I think this may be one of those.

My kids are 16 and 15 and they have been used to me running round the world so they just think I am daft. Maybe not wrong

Hi Peter

Great idea and like Neil .... I'm jealous.

Your biggest challenge I guess will be in trying to recreate training conditions around Perth during scottish winter.....

You make a good point that "Sometimes though I like to do things for the sake of doing them" and that although you have a charitable outlet for the project it is often good to do things for the personal challenge as well.

I'm sure you will be keeping SBF members updated on your progress.

Good luck with the training.

Hi John

Lucky that I have a couple of places in Morocco, one in Marrakech and one in the mountains so I will be spending a fair bit of the winter done their, particulary April the month before we depart.

The school part of the expedition seems to be growing like a train with lots of schools getting involved which is great.

I have a fair bit of training to catch up on when I get back to Scotland next week as business has got in the way this last couple of weeks.

If all goes well, this will be one of 5 endurance journeys over the next 5 years. Life is short so trying to make the most of it.
