Promotional Discounts?

Obviously a lot of businesses do well when they give promotional discounts, such as supermarkets and the like, but what about smaller businesses? Do you offer any kind of new client discount, or a discount for loyalty? I personally offer small discounts for bulk purchases, although my profit margins are already very small so I can't really give that much of a discount.

I do a family discount. A 10% reduction of lesson fees for the second child, and a 20% reduction for the third, 30% reduction for the 4th and so on. The only one that isn't profitable is when it gets to the 4th child, and while we do advertise for up to ten children (that would be free lessons, oh dear) we've never been tested yet past the third, as all children need to be on the books at the same time, and pay for blocks of ten lessons on the same day. So it is a very good discount!

That sounds brilliant! Do you ask for ID to make sure the children are all genuinely related? Ha ha.

You were probably joking, but yes, we do. We have had a pair of friends come and say they were brothers to try and get the discount lessons, and we don't take too kindly to that, let me tell you!

Important to be careful I guess. If you let one person get away with it, they'll all be trying it!
