Apologies - this is probably a really silly question.

I have a website up and running - but want to change the name / webaddress. Is this easy to do? If anyone can give me sme guidance I'd be exceptionally grateful.. you can tell me IT skills are not that hot!!

Thanks in advance

Hi Robbie - in itself this is reasonably easy to do but how you do it would depend on how your hosting is set up.

Things you want to consider as well would be how long your current site has been online, how many pages have been indexed, how recognised is your brand, etc.

You'll also need to make sure you use 301 redirects if you do decide to change url to ensure any links to your existing site don't get lost.

There's plenty of quality guys on this forum that i'm sure can help you complete the exercise and I know a couple myself ........if you want their details drop me a PM.

Very easy to do, all you would need to do is purchase a new domain name from a domain provider. Point it towards your web hosting company and then upload your site.

It might be a good idea to redirect any traffic from your old domain to your brand new one.

If you need any help, feel free to ask :)
