We are a new company based in Glasgow, specialising in expert tree and hedge solutions for both commercial and domestic clients. With 14 years experience in the professional industry we are at the forefront in delivering high quality tree services.

We are currently looking for investor/ guarantor who may be able to help us acquire a tipper van so that we can run our business more efficiently and reliably. At present we are forced to use sub contractors to complete work, as we have been refused finance from ever angle.

This is extremely damaging to our business as we cannot be as competitive as we would like to be in order to secure more work.

We are currently working towards securing a 3 year contract with our local authority in october and a vehicle of this sort is essential.

Could anyone please give me advice on how we could overcome this problem.

Many thanks.

Hi Foster,

First of all welcome to SBF :)

Can you give us some sort of idea of what this type of vehicle would cost? An estimate is fine.

What's the split between domestic and commercial clients?

What area's have you looked into so far?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the reply.

To purchase a modern tipper van around 4-5 years old would cost approx £8000 + V.A.T.

most of our work is residential but we have carried out work previously for East Renfreshire Council environment department as well as local construction and Factor agents. the split at the moment is around 90/10, although ownership of a new vehicle would allow us to carry out more commercial work.

We have tried conventional finance options with no success as we are a new business. we have also looked into leasing a vehicle although this is expensive and not ideal although we may have to try this. we are now looking at the possibility of a private guarantor who would assist us in buying the van. in return we would be willing to pay a fee and or offer our services free of charge as and when required.
