PLC with share capital query

I am in the process of taking a sole trader to the small claims court to recover money for poor workmanship carried out on my property. I have found out that on 28th March 2021, him and his Step Father set up a Ltd company. It is listed as a plc with share capital.

I am unsure whether this is a coincidence or a ploy to put his assets in the name of the company so that they cant be seized by the County Court Sherriffs.

We are taking him to court as an individual not an organisation.

I am hoping someone can advise.

Thank you
