Hi, we're a medium-sized business in Dorset. We've been processing payments over the phone for years. More recently, we've moved on to something called 'Pay By Link'. As most will know, it's more secure. Yet, it's a lot more of a hassle for older customers. Even for younger ones. Once it was possible (and still is),to call up a business, pay using a card by reading those details out over the phone, and that'd be the end of it. But now, we have to send a message to our customers, asking them to follow a link in order to make the payment we require.
In some cases, people say they either didn't get the message, they didn't read it properly, think it's a scam, or changed their mind and went elsewhere in the time it took to generate the link (which wasn't long at all).
We were wondering if anyone else still takes payments over the phone, without the need to use a payment link, and whether they have any thoughts on this.
