Hey :)

I was just thinking about how good it would be for an area that's private to unregistered users and search engines. A place where I could post questions about things that I don't want the general public seeing.

I'd happily pay a small annual membership fee for this... what are everyone else's views?

Would

I think it would be hard to get people to cough up until these forums get a lot busier. In the meantime, however, there would be nothing to prevent setting up a private forum for registered members which is not indexed by search engines.

I willingly pay for private membership of one other forum and currently have access to the free members' private area of another which is less established.

I agree with Stuart that a private area would be useful for the discussion of more sensitve business issues.

I agree with Alison in that it's a bit premature to be asking for people to pay. It's certainly worth considering further down the line but for the moment i'm concentrating on getting new members.

Regarding the private area. Certainly willing to have a look at it and I will do over the next few days.

Hi ,

The new private area isn't private yet - and normal people (even not logged in) can go in and view :)

Can the permissions be updated please? :)

Stuart,

Thanks for pointing this out. Learning every day with vBulletin. I've updated the permissions which should resolve this issue I think.
