Oppose governments desire to introduce a car scrap system

Hello...Just thought I would post my petition on here, just in case anyone else was miffed with the way the government is throwing around our money...

I can't believe they really think a system of paying people £2000 to scrap their old car for a new car from a main dealer only!! Will help anyone apart from getting that individual further into debt!!

Plus all the money will go to foreign owned car companies and only help clear a over priced/produced stock. So even direct and indirect supplies based in the UK are not going to benefit greatly.

Sounds similar to a scheme they have in Japan where everyone is forced into a buying cycle and they have to trade in their roadworthy cars for new ones after every 3 - 4 years.

It is the same, as well as France and Germany. The difference there is that buying a new car means 60 odd per cent buy French or German. In Japan I suspect it will be even higher.

In the UK it would be around 16%...and that's if anyone can afford a Jag/Land Rover. The only choices off buying 'British' for us plebs is a Mini and one of the small Toyotas or Nissans...Which as we know are German and Japanese!!!

So no real help unless we buy Morgans!! ACs!! er can' think off anyone else...although I am sure there are a few around.
