A survey just released has found that over 70% of businesses who responded felt satisfied with the results they achieved from attending networking events.

The survey carried out by business networking events website, FindNetworkingEvents.com also found that a high proportion of respondents said that their main reason for networking was to gain new business contacts whilst many also enjoyed the social aspect.

Stuart Russell, owner of FindNetworkingEvents.com said “The results of the survey demonstrate the importance that businesses place on networking as a tool to gain new business. With the UK entering a recession, it is vitally important that companies step up their networking efforts rather than cutting back.”

There has been a huge growth in the numbers and types of networking events over the past few years. The survey shows a fairly even spread in the sort of events that business owners prefer between traditional and informal. Russell continued “it is important that you choose events that work for you and to stick at it, building relationships with potential customers takes time and doesn’t happen over night!”
