National Apprenticeship Week 2012 has been our most successful ever, thanks to an unprecedented level of support from our partners and customers.
Every year the Week, which is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and their positive impact, increases in popularity. This year was no exception with more than 800 events and activities on offer across England from 6-10 February – a new record - and an impressive increase of 300 on last year. A huge amount of positive media interest was generated, with National Apprenticeship Week 2012, one of the UK’s top 10 discussed Twitter topics.

National Apprenticeship Week 2012 has so far achieved:
  • More than 800 pieces of media coverage to date (and continually rising).
  • 210,350 visits to the aprrenticeships.org.uk website over the Week: (up from 174,901 in 2011).
  • 159,700 visitors to the website over the Week (up from 154,903 in 2011).
  • Facebook views during Apprenticeship Week = 33,956 (up from 16,924 in 2011).
  • Twitter total followers after the Week = 9,004 (increase from 3,221 in 2011).
  • More than 100 “I’m with Apprenticeships because” quotes from employers and apprentices were received, the majority of which are now being showcased on our website here and here.
  • More than 70 employer and apprentice case studies were received, (which due to the high volume, will be showcased on our website on a rotational basis over the coming weeks).
NAW did fantastic overall, and it was great to see so many people get involved with the project :)

Did you do anything for it? Or did it get you thinking about apprenticeships?
