My 2nd week in, and it's going well!

I'm in my 2nd week at my Business & Admin apprenticeship.

Being someone who one day wants to own their own business, getting into an apprenticeship like this is something I felt was a must. I've always been interested in how a company runs and handles it's day-to-day tasks.

I must admit, the job itself is pretty repetitive, however I really do like it. Staff, in my opinion, are the key factor in a job. If you don't get on with them, you won't get on with your job. However I must admit, I've settled in really well and I'm starting to be able to find tasks to do, instead of asking one of my fellow office members for some work to do.

Another good thing is (well I see it as a good thing!),there's always something to do! I like having a few minute break after completing long tasks, as you do need time to chill down for a little bit, however I get straight back to work after, and they're trusting me with many responsibilities.

Talking on the phone is also something I have trouble with, so building my confidence up in that is something I've been aiming to do, and just over a week into the job and I already feel comfortable! :)

That's brilliant! What type of industry are you looking to get into? The reason I like this role even more is because it's in design and print :)

Ideally I would like to work in a public sector, so a council or school. I have applied for a vacancy with my local housing organisation & I'm planning on applying for my local council when they advertise.I have just seen a vacancy for a solicitors advertised so I may apply for that too :)

That's really positive stuff! Do you have any future goals, like to eventually run your own business?

That's probably a more safer plan, you can earn loads, plus you haven't got any worries like an owner of a business would have! :)

Yeah, it'd be brilliant to see how well you do when you find the right apprenticeship for you :)
