Rank and Pension of Soldiers Killed on Active Service | Petition of Soldiers Pensions

Sergeant Matty Telford was killed 3rd Nov 2009 by a rogue Afghan Policeman.

You may remember Sergeant Matty Telford from the news.......He was killed 3rd Nov 2009 by a rogue Afghan Policeman but the army give his children his pension at Corporal rate because he had only been a Sergeant for less than a year.

The irony and unfairness of this is that he was promoted so he could do this job in Afghanistan.

Had he not been promoted he would have been doing a different job and may even have been with us today.

After this petition was started it came to light that this is happening to a lot of our brave heroes families.

Whatever your views are on the politicians who decided to put our troops in harms way hopefully you'll agree that treating the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country is simply wrong.

Please help right this wrong by signing this petition.

That's absolutely shocking!

Just plain wrong on so many levels. I've signed the petition and hopefully a few other will follow suit and support this.

This makes me so angry. The amount is a pittance as far as the army is concerned but would make a huge difference to the families.

I've signed it.

I've signed this, I originally came across this in the paper the other day and it really hit a nerve. I can't believe this is how our government treats not only our citizens but those who actually put their lives on the line.
