Internet Explorer gets a makeover

I'm sure there's a few people on here use Internet Explorer and I sometimes need to use it for sites that dont work well in Firefox.

I noticed the article below regarding the beta release of IE8.

Apparently the beta release is just a test version but i'm wandering if anybody is using it and what their opinions are

I have been using it for a week or so, some sites don't work well as you'd expect but it's a good improvement, it also has IE7 Emulation which you can switch to if you having problems with a site.

Firefox does hog a lot of resource...is IE8 less hungry?

I would presume IE8 to be worse than FF but I have a fairly decent machine with 4GB of ram so I never noticed the slow down a lot of IE7 users complained about, all I know is it works for me

IE7 has got a lot better since it's initial release it seems to run a lot faster and renders sites very close to ff3.
It still has a few issues with CSS though.

I have not used IE for a long time now except for testing. I moved to Firefox and recently have been running Flock. Flock runs on the Firefox engine and is memory hungry.

The benefit of Flock is that it has lots of web 2.0 functionality built right in.
