How Important Is Your Smart Phone To Your Business?

And could you manage without it?

I use my iPhone for checking and responding to emails primarily, which makes it very useful but at the same time I wish I didn't have it! I'm a sucker for 'just checking if I have any emails' while I'm supposed to be enjoying downtime with my wife or friends. Needless to say it ruins my evenings when a business email comes through asking me to do something!

Today mobile devices are generating more traffic then the desktops ..It proves that world is going mobile for almost every information and utilities. in this case business and organizations cant keep them-self out of mobile revolutions that also brings more and more business opportunities. But at the same time i also believe that smartphones are ruining our social life. We have become sick of these silly devices that are sucking essence from our life.

I know! There's nothing worse than being out doing something nice for a change, and then failing to resists checking my emails and suddenly killing my own mood!

There are probably apps that help separate work/life items on your phone. You can probably split up your mail accounts for example and allow notifications for some but not others.

if you are asking for eCommerce business then yes off course there is a very vital role of smartphone because more then 40% users are come from mobile devices so if anybody of you guys are running a website make sure you implemented AMP in your website.

I use my smartphone all of the time but I must admit that every now and again when I am going to the shop or out for a short while I do sometimes leave it in the office - oh the peace and quiet is great then I worry I might be missing an important call or email. What did we ever do before smartphones lol

Being connected is really important to me and my business, being a commercial photographer I'm usually on the go and I need to be contactable by clients. My desktops, laptops, tablets and phones are all in sync so I don't need to be on any particular device to conduct business its a great benefit to me as it frees up my evenings wading through emails and messages. I use my phone to keep my Instagram feed fresh when I'm on particularly interesting jobs it's my main marketing and I can do it on the go.

I would guess if you are out and about most of the day the ability to sort your emails before you get home must be a god send. Multi tasking is the name of the game these days and offers the chance to leave some time to relax and spend with friends and family. Do you find it easy to balance work and family time @Wills ?

LOL... The nearest I have to a SmartPhone is an Ipaq (and yes, you'll probably need to look up what one of them is!). If we're filming we need to have ALL phones OFF because they interfere with the mics. I had (still have I suppose) an Android device for about three months; I took the SIM out of it and now use it as a bedside alarm clock/podcast player/small tablet - and went back to the ipaq.

Yes I have always tried to maintain a balanced family life, it was simpler before digital photography and social media took over now sitting in front of a screen must be the biggest consumer of family time not the actual work element.

Hi @Wills

Like many people these days, I have got to the point where I am sometimes saturated with emails and telephone calls. I find it very useful to take a 10 or 15 minute break when nipping to the shops by leaving my phone in the office. The problem is, in the back of your mind you always think have I missed that one phone call which could be “life changing”.

Smartphone is not just important, it's vital to help any business stay afloat. Usually customers want prompt replies and smartphones make it easier to reply quickly
