Help using an email template with newsletter software

I'm looking to use an email template from theme forest in our email newsletter software - Vertical Response.

If I want to tweak the template would I simply amend it in Photoshop?

What other issues should I consider when using a template with email newsletter software?

If its the graphical elements you will be changing then yes Photoshop will do nicely. If however you are looking to tweak the layout, then you will have to play with the HTML that is used to structure the email document.

HTML emails are incredible easy to break, so tread carefully!
