Can some one give me some advise. I have been on a engineering apprenticship since Aug 2012 when I joined I was told I would train in there in house training centre for 6 weeks then I would work 4 day at a company and 1 day releases at a training centre. It's now march and they have not find me an employer so I go there 4 days a week. I do get paid £78 per wk and I have completed my NVQ level 2 in welding in less than 5 months. Ok the problem I've got now is is obvious they can't find me and 5 others a job so I am now applying for other apprentciships. What the apprentice providers are saying I can't apply for level 2 engineeering jobs because I've got the qualification and no one will take me on for a level 3 because I have no practical experience.

Can someone answer can I apply for a level 2 engineering course ? I'm only 17 and need some advise on what to do.

Have you looked into other apprenticeships with other providers? By the looks of it you could be waiting a while where you are, and time is precious in today's market

Thanks for your reply, buts thats the issue no one will touch me because I've practically completed my NVQ level 2 and no provider will take me on for a level 3 because I have no works experience. I'm in limbo any suggestions.

Yes, you can apply for a level 2 engineering course. You may be able to find a training provider that specializes in engineering who can provide you with the necessary skills and experience to be able to apply for a level 3 engineering job.
