Hola to everyone. My name is David Chisholm, and I hate to admit it but I live in Spain. I "retired" to Spain 3 years ago after running several businesses in the UK for over 20 years. I became bored and set up an estate agents that specialises in golf property. Now my love of the great game indulges me with a fantastic life. I am looking forward to speaking to you all.
Cheers
david:)

Welcome to SBF, David.

Living in Spain sounds positively idyllic, but I have never quite seen the point of trying to hit a small ball into a distant small hole with a long stick. :p

(heading for my bunker now :D)

Hello to all, and thanks for the welcome. I started my first business at age 18 which was buying residential property in Edinburgh for rental. I then had a style bar/restaurant. An outside catering company which then went on to make salads etc for some of the big wholesalers. Then a chain of coffee shops. A software company. Then an import distribution company, which brought drinks in from the far east. Sorry, but I was the one responsible for bringing "Shark Energy Drink" to the UK. Then a few different businesses in conjunction with other people.
I had 2 young kids( now aged 11 and 13) who were asking who was dad.
We sold up and moved to Spain where I got bored within 3 months. Real estate was booming so I thought I would get into that. Luckily the PGA has opened their winter training acadamy here, and the first time DeVere is opening outside the UK. We are jogging along quite nicely selling that.
Life is a bitch when business means having to play golf all year round in shorts.

Hi David,

Welcome to the forums! Congratulations with the energy drink, I know first hand that if it hadn't been for Shark, my Wednesday nights at City Nightclub wouldn't have been as exciting!

What part of Spain are you actually in, and are you fluent yet? :D

Hi Stugster. We live in the province of Almeria, which is between the sol and the blanca.
Very Spanish, and not ruined by the Brits yet. I now understand 70% of what is said to me, and I can easily hold a connersation. My kids are fluent, and when a Spaniard meets them for the first time, they don't know they are Scottish.
