In a perfect world word-of-mouth would be the best way to find a marketing agency/freelancer but this is not always possible.

To be fair it's been a bit of a mixed bag, some are good, some you can see why they are freelancing - they couldn't get a job anywhere proper!

It's a real difficulty finding a roster of good people I can call on who have the same work ethic.

I go with reputed agencies. The price is a little too high, but you can get quality service. I read some reviews about them and during conversations, i will judge whether they have real knowledge on the subject

If your business has enough margins then try to hire a professional company. Most UK based companies would generally farm out the work to others in India anyways. For us it was very important that our selective keywords such as forklift training and others were ranking high and to be honest its a process that will take a long time.

I have purchased services from upwork.com and have done freelancing in the past. My advice is to look at the hourly price of a person, how many ratings they have, and # of successful completed projects to use. If you have longer-term work, you can hire 3 freelancers and give them each 3 small intro projects to see who performs the best.

I didn`t turn to such marketing services, but, maybe, one day I will. Our small company had problem with customer service because there aren`t enough workers who could do it. We decided to turn to wow24-7.io that we found by chance. They provided proffesional help and they improved our customer service, so I am so pleased to them.
