Government paying 50% of apprentices wages?

Anyone else heard this? Think I heard it on the radio some time last week about the Government are considering agreeing to pay what I think was 50% of the apprentice's wages, something like that so it encourages employers to take on more and more apprentices.

I've got to admit as a young person myself, although a lot of people say it's sad to see there's hardly any jobs for the young people these days - there are so many apprenticeship opportunities out there! If they do introduce this plan, then fantastic opportunities like this will basically be put on a plate for people to snap up!

Great idea, what does everyone think about it?
