Hey all,
Sandra (Boxby) posted on another forum about Google Analytic's Site Overlay feature, and I thought I'd share it here.
It's absolutely fantastic! What it does is lets you see what links on your homepage are clicked the most: so you can see what areas of your site are the most visited, and what areas people are taking no real notice of.
I surprised myself with my site: almost 40% of my visitors have a look at my articles (which I've never really got round to actually writing :001_rolleyes
so I'm missing out on valuable marketing opportunities!
If you want to have a peek, log in to your Google Analytics account (if you don't have one, shame on you!).
Once you're in, click on your site report, then content, then Site Overlay.
What's really good is that it's not a static site: Google generates the results on the fly, so you can actually navigate throughout your entire site (not just the homepage as I previously mentioned) and see exactly what links are being clicked on and what ones are rubbish.
